Problem

A new matcha brand needed a storefront that didn’t look like every other Shopify boutique. Default themes were too busy; the brand wanted clean editorial product photography with calm pacing.

Role

Designed and built the storefront end-to-end on Shopify with a custom-tailored theme. Set up product taxonomy, cart UX, brand pages, and the password gate during pre-launch.

  • Frontend vanilla JS for storefront interactions, hand-tuned CSS for editorial product layouts

Highlights

  • Custom product pages designed around editorial photography rather than spec dumps.
  • Subtle interaction language across the cart, drawer, and checkout transitions.
  • Pre-launch password gate so the brand could iterate privately.

Outcome

Site is in pre-launch behind a Shopify password gate. (Public launch pending.)
